Average monthly carbon footprint of a UK home
The average UK home has a total carbon footprint per annum of 6,318kg. This is made up of 2,894kg of carbon dioxide CO2 emissions from electrical sources such as Washing Machine, Fridge Freezer, Light bulbs, TV etc. and an annual carbon footprint of 3,424kg from gas usage, which in the average UK home is 1800KWh's per year.
On a monthly basis this equates to an average UK home emitting 241.16Kg of CO2 from electrical sources and 285.33kg of CO2 from gas, a total monthly carbon footprint of 526.49kg (1158.3 lbs)

Monthly carbon footprint the size of a cow
The average weight of a fully matured cow ranges between 1,000 lbs - 1,600 lbs dependent on breed. Popular breeds of cows such as Jersey, Guernsey, Ayrshire & Dexter weigh on average between 1,000 - 1,300 lbs when fully matured.

Savings figures
Savings figures are based on the independent trial carried out by RWE npower in May-June 2010 and through trial installations of the unit. The savings if maintained over a 12 month period would produce the highlighted annual savings of £90-£150.
RWE npower trial
A trial of the unit was installed in conjunction with RWE npower in May-June 2010, and the results were independently adjudicated by the energy supplier both before and after the installation. The displayed results are taken directly from the report produced by RWE npower which verify the savings made.
Case studies
The case study savings figures are taken from the RWE npower home study conducted in May-June 2010 and applied to the individual fictional housing specifications in the case studies. The energy savings verified by the study, sustained over a whole year would result in the saving figures detailed.

Savings Calculator
The savings figures produced from the savings calculator are based on the confirmed savings results from the independent trial verified by RWE npower.
The estimated figures are based on the results from the independent trial being sustained over a 12 month period and applied to the housing specifications selected by the user on the savings calculator.
